READ media. WRITE media. SHARE media and SHAPE the world!

TVbyGIRLS received a Digital Inclusion Grant from the Minneapolis Foundation!

With this grant we will begin conducting workshops with girls from a variety of cultural communities and neighborhoods to play with ideas and make content for their peers.

Workshop is:
• conducted by two adult women media makers/mentors and experienced program girls as peer mentors.

• we work together for 4 to 8 weeks diving into Internet technology as a place for sharing ideas and using the “shape a better world” blog via TVbyGIRLS.

More girls making more great films!

We are always in the process of planning introduction to visual literacy workshops. These are usually 2 day workshops with an introduction to both collage and video work.

If you are a girl or know a girl who is interested in taking a workshop please let us know. This is a great way to expand your knowledge and awareness as well as to explore if TVbyGIRLS is for you.

We would be glad to put you on our mailing list and keep you updated on the next workshop.

Behind Bullies

12 year old Casey is making a short documentary on bullying. Her words, "Bullying is a larger problem than people realize. I see how it affects other kids. I know what it feels like and I want to help it stop. I want to tell the truth about who can be a Bully and who can be a victim. I also want to tell the truth about what happens when you talk about your differences and about what is going on to cause the bullying behavior." She has received an Ann Bancroft Dare to Dream Mini-Grant as well as a Mix It Up grant.
